I watched this and literally busted out with a giggle-snort. I will admit, everytime I think of it, I start laughing all over again. And yes, I have found myself humming the song. Ridiculous.

Today, I started a new workout plan with Marla at Peak Fast. The alarm went off at 5am and I should've known right then that this was gonna be tough.

"Get warmed up!" Ok, so I jumped on a bike. "Come get measured". That was surprising. Our scale at home is way off. Gym scale says 241lb. I was happy for a brief moment.

Then it began.

I don't even know what I was working on but about halfway through, I asked if it was normal to feel like I was about to vomit! "Yep, lactic acid.." (or something like that). So I wobbled off to the restroom, and got in position.

And now my Top 5 jokes about vomiting at the gym.
  1. I didn't see this part in the pamplet.
  2. I hope nobody walks into the...oh my gosh, I went in the girl's bathroom by mistake.
  3. Another reason to not eat Broccoli.
  4. Is that a quarter?
  5. Please don't pooop yourself...again.
At one point, I yelled out "Dennis!" (Marla's husband was there too.) He quickly dismissed me with a "I can't help you buddy, you are on your own." Then walked away. I can't believe he read my mind like that and then pushed me to the side.

"Co'mon Corey, we gotta get Mr. Radio Personality in shape looking good!" "That's why I got into radio...because nobody sees me!"

I was finally finished laying in a chair in the front room. I ended my session begging not to have to eat cottage cheese on the meal plan. I don't think I pleaded my case as well.

Tomorrow, cardio stuff. Then, once again punishment from Marla on Wednesday.

REVIEW: NICK & NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST

Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. I used to put great effort into making mix tapes and mix cd's. Not just with song selection and tracking, (what order the songs play in), but also the writing style on the cassette cover, and what type of marker on the cd, as well as using scrapbook materials for cd covers. Yeah, I'm that guy.

This is a movie about
that guy. Nick is recently dumped after a 6 month relationship with Triss, (who you want someone to punch in the nose during this movie) and ends up spending the evening with Norah, (who hates Triss, and grabs Nick and asks him to pretend to be her girlfriend). Norah loses her drunk girl-pal, and Nick and his pals/band mates of the "The Jerkoffs" try to find her at her favorite puke-spots, all the while searching out the elusive "Where's Fluffy", (a punk band that plays unannounced somewhere in NY).

I like when Norah finds a mix cd made by Nick entitled, "Continuation of Separation: Volume 12"

It's cute.
It reminded me of a CW show, with its emo-cool tweens who talk with abbreviated words, try hard to not dress cool, bed-heads, bad vehicles, (there is a Yugo appearance), alternative music, and inside-jokes between each other.

Plus, I was the oldest guy in the theatre.

I've been chewing on a worship song for a while now.  It's basic premise is that God is good.  This is a basic concept that I would love for our people to internalize and truly believe.  Mark Beeson spoke of it this weekend that even through tough circumstances, we must trust and believe that God is ultimately GOOD.  It's the premise behind Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

A few thoughts/verses that I've been thinking about for the song:
  • His love and mercy endure for all eternity
  • Taste and see that the Lord is good.
  • His unfailing love draws us in
  • He is close the brokenhearted
  • The Cross is the ultimate example of his goodness
  • His kindness leads us to repentance
  • We (His people) will declare His goodness to all nations
Anything that you might suggest?

Maddie's 10th Bday 044

Today is Maddie's 10th Birthday. We love her more than words can say.  As I post this, she's surrounded by her aunts, uncles, grandma's and grandpas, and cousins.  The cousins are bouncing off the walls from the post-cake sugar buzz.  I'm going to direct their energy into Rock Band in a couple minutes.

Both sets of grandparents were able to make it today.  Maddie inherits a legacy of faith and I proud to say she's carrying on the flame.  This year, her tenth year, was the year she went public with her faith through baptism.  Life is good!  I'm sure grateful to have Moms and Dads who led us to Jesus.

Ever since the first mobile browser there has been a massive chasm between what a full blown browser can do and what your phone browser can do...

...until now.

The typical problem with the mobile browser is that it requires a stripped down version of a web page. Full blown html/css layouts appear broken and are often unusable. Not to mention that flash doesn't work.

Because of this designers/developers have either created "smart" css pages based on device or they have created mobile versions of their sites all together.

Enter skyfire - a beta browser that takes surfing on your mobile phone to incredible heights. Open it up for the first time and you immediately sense its power. Navigate to your favorite website and watch it magically appear before your eyes - not just the copy and a few images, but the entire site in its correct html/css layout.

Now the problem we run into is that most phones have very small screens with inadequate resolution to handle this new power. Not a problem - skyfire has added a smart zoom feature so you can choose a section of the site to zoom into. Once at the correct zoom level you can access buttons, text entry fields and other page elements. This until phones start adding screen real estate and better resolution.

The Biggest Difference
However, the most incredible thing (to me) about this browser is that it supports flash.

This is HUGE friends!!!! I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for this. Flash entered the progressive download and streaming video field with force and yet the mobile world didn't recognize its importance fast enough. Before you knew it sites like YouTube had millions of viewable clips that the mobile world couldn't access. In fact YouTube even had to create a separate set of video clips (in a different format) for the introduction of the original iPhone just so that phone could use the content. Since then YouTube has even added a mobile version of their site so that I can view clips on my phone using Windows Media Player.

But once Flash is available on phones and other mobile devices all this work will be for not. We can go back to watching the original flash version of the clips (Incredible storage savings for YouTube...)

In Summary
One of the first things I did with skyfire was to go to gccwired.com and try viewing a flash video clip from our media player. The next was to try watching our streaming service. Both worked and the phone/browser combo actually kept up with it. Amazing!

Of course there are kinks to work out. My phone has a hard time controlling audio in skyfire due to my phone (Sprint Motorola Q9c) not having external volume buttons. Because of this I have to zoom into the actual volume control on the website and try to drop the volume.

But for a beta browser these are small things that will only get better when viewed on more advanced phones.

HUGE things are possible because of this browser technology. I can't wait to see what happens next...

Today at 9:30 a.m. EST it became official. Granger Community Church is now One Church - Multiple Locations.

I posted a while ago about our site revamp (gccwired.com) that included changes to navigation and content in preparation for this day. And now it has arrived. For months we've seen Jeff Bell and his team running around with their heads cut off preparing for this launch. And while I wasn't there I was able to follow along (Twitter...) with anticipation to see how it went.

Here are just two of the tweets that made me very happy:
Just returned from Elkhart campus launch. 780 on first day. Flawless service. timastevens
Elkhart checkin is rockin' this morning! Even doing some barcode scanning for those with tags (TwitPic) JasonPowell
Last night at the 7:00 p.m. service (Granger Campus) there was a definite difference felt as Mark Beeson talked to us and to those in Elkhart simultaneously. He was pumped as I'm sure the 700 at Elkhart were this morning.

I'm looking forward to work on Monday so I can hear more stories about the cool things happening in Elkhart.
