SPEECHLESS

I came home last night to catch a bit on the TV of 3rd rate celbs in the jungle being sick because they are trying to eat some bugs and kangaroo body parts for 'entertainment' sake.

Does anyone else find this repulsive TV???

Is this really what we are reduced to? Watching people crying because they find life in the jungle "so hard"????????

Meanwhile....children of the world are rummaging through rubbish tips

As I said speechless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGING

Last week I got very excited about three cardboard boxes that arrived at the church. This week they were unpacked!!!!!!

The first signs of our refurbishment have officially begun. RBS Heating have started the process of installing the new heaters for the sanctuary. This will allow us to move forward with the rest of the works.

We live in exciting times in Knightswood. A new day is dawning and new opportunities are there for us to grasp.

AMERICAN ELECTION

It is hard to0 believe the momentous events that have happened in America this past week. Who would have thought something like this would have happened in our lifetime. We visited the deep south a couple of years back and the scars of the race issue are still to be seen. I do pray that this is a new dawn for America and indeed the world.

LASTLY

Did I ever tell you the one about a minister, some friends, a boat and the canal???? Tell you later!!

STRANGE THINGS IN THE NEWS

Had a great laugh today. Have you seen the news??? About the Welsh road sign??? Have a look at it, it will make you laugh. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7702913.stm

Also, a new Bruce song has surfaced....as always good! http://www.brucespringsteen.net/news/index.html

Have just finished reading The Last Word and The Word After That by Brian McLaren. A very thought provoking read. Just exactly who is heaven open to??? That's a real interesting question....

Maybe more than we think, and maybe different than e think.

Cardboard boxes....

We have a few cardboard boxes kicking round the church, this is the first signs of our refurbishment....We will post pictures as we get the work started. Keep all this in your prayers.

IT'S ALL IN THE JEANS

What's the story with buying jeans. You can't just go and buy jeans. There is straight leg, wide leg, boot cut, flares, grrrr why can't you just buy jeans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want someone to open a shop that just sells jeans to men like me. Men that want to buy 'jeans'. The same type of men who want to go into a shop and buy yellow paint. Not sunburst. Not Lemon zest. Just yellow.

I want a simple life................

ADVENT CONSPIRACY

Hugh sent me this link. Definitely going to give this a lot of thought and a bit of a push. Wonder what we as a church could do? Maybe something that the Knightswood Fellowship of Churches could do....or how about CF Scotland!!!!! How big can this get???

Drop by and have a look see http://www.adventconspiracy.org/

CHURCH 101

I remember a few years ago Michael Heaney General Secretary of the Federation wrote a piece in the Congregationalist called Church 101, based on the TV programme. He got a bit of stick.

There has been an interesting debate on CF Scotland about similar things, direction and such like.

I was thinking we could ask the question again today. What would you put into Church 101? What would you want to throw out?????

Will someone post an answer?
